Transportation in Luoyang
Luoyang, the second largest city of Henan province, is located in the western of the province, serving as an important transportation junction.
Flight to and from Luoyang
Luoyang Beijiao Airport (LYA) is located 10 kilometers north of Luoyang city; it accepts travelers from other cities of China including daily flights from Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Chongqing and so on. There’s charter flight from Luoyang to Hong Kong.
Upon arrival at the airport, travelers can take taxi (cost around rmb 100) or shuttle bus which operated every 45 minutes or 1 hour. No.83 city bus stops at the airport and returns to the city for only CNY1.
Train to Luoyang
Luoyang is on very important junction for the Longhai and Jiaozhi national railways of China; it is also a stop of the Eurasia Land Bridge from Lianyungang China to Rotterdam Holland. There are TWO train stations in Luoyang, one is Luoyang railway station for K & T trains, another one is Longmen railway station for G trains (high speed trains) and D trains (CHR). It will take around 30 minutes by taxi from running between these two stations, with the costs around RMB 50.00. There are also public buses (26, 28, 33, 65, 66) that travelers can take.
There are bullet trains from Beijing, Xi’an to Luoyang, which is fast, ecominic and comfortable; while some people would go to Luoyang by train via Zhengzhou, which takes only 40 minutes by high speed trains.
Bus travel to Luoyang
Luoyang is well connected by expressways and highways to Xi’an, Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Beijing, Nanjing; and there are three long-distance bus stations: one is Luoyang Central Passenger Station, located in the 200 meters east of Luoyang Railway Station; buses here towards to other provinces or other cities of Henan; second one is Jinyuan Passenger Station, in the west of Railway station square; buses are mainly to counties of Luoyang and scene spots, such as Shaolin Temple and so on; Third one is Guanlin Bus Station, with buses forward to counties and scenic area of Luoyang, other cities in and out Henan province.
