Hainan Island, located in the South China Sea is a fantastic Destination. It is filled with wonderful sand beaches, incredible seafood and unique sites and people. It’s two main cities are Haikou, the capital of Hainan, and Sanya. These are the most popular cities with visitors and have the most to offer.

Haikou Food:
Haikou is famous for its seafood, but the city has a large selections of international cuisine has well. There is something for every palate in the city. There are two basic kinds of seafood restaurants, restaurants, and roadside stalls. The seafood in the restaurants tend to be the higher end dishes, but the roadside stalls also serve incredible food. Many people like to stroll the areas with the stalls and choose something to eat. They continue strolling and eating and then stop at another stall and try something different. It is a great way to spend an evening, chatting, eating, and walking the streets of Haikou.

The three most famous Haikou dishes are Hele Crab, Wenchang Chicken, and Dongshan Mutton. Hele Crab is famed for its flavor and aroma. The crabs are either steamed, roasted, or stir-fried. Wenchang Chicken was originally cooked in Wenchang City, in Hainan. The dish is as beautiful as it is delicious. Dongshan Mutton is served in a soup and the meat is tender and flavorful. One favorite way to cook the mutton is in coconut milk.

One of the best places to find seafood is on Longkun South Road. It is famous for its seafood restaurants. For roadside stalls, Bo’ai South Road is the best place to go. It combines local seafood with other famous local snacks.

Nightlife:
Haikou has a rich night life. The city offers something for everyone, from hopping nightclubs and pubs, to quiet and romantic tea houses and eateries. The selection is almost limitless and visitors need but stroll down the streets and they will soon find a place that suits their individual taste.

Sanya Food:
The city of Sanya, is famous for its fresh seafood. It’s three most famous ingredients are abalone, sea cucumbers, and sea urchins. Shrimp, crab, shellfish, and fresh fish are available throughout the city.
