Hongfeng Lake(Red Maple Lake)

Hongfeng(Red Maple Lake) is one of the most popular scenic spot in Guiyang city, about 32 kilometers from downtown area, covering an area of 57.2 square kilometers.
The red maple lake is great for natural scenery, with over 190 islands dotted in and around the lake area, varied in sizes and shapes. The Hongfeng Lake Area consists of scenic areas, namely the North Lake, the South Lake, the Rear Lake and the minority ethnic villages. The North Lake is the smallest and famous for its various islands such as Bird Island, Snake Island and Tortoise Island. Onshore, there are a historic complex of ancient tombs left by the Western Han Dynasty and a Miao King's Camp of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
There are some caves in the South Lake, and the countryside scenery is typical thing in Rear Lake, with villages, Miao traditional architectures, roofed bridge and Dong drum tower… Folk dance and other interesting performance can be seen in the scenic area.
