Shuiguan Great Wall
Located 2 kilometers from the Badaling Section of The Great Wall, the Shuiguan Section was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The Shuiguan Section is translated as “Water Pass”, because it utilized water as part of its defense. It was famous for its precipitous cliffs and its strength.
This section was built of stone blocks, which follow the contours of the mountains. It has seven watch towers and one arrow tower. This section of the wall was open to the public in 1995 after repairs. There are many interesting sites located near the Shuiguan Section.
