The Dragon Well
The Dragon Well, located in Hangzhou in China’s Zhejiang Province, is the well that gave Dragon Well Tea its name. It is located just outside of Dragon Well Village. The well is a natural spring well and according to legend, it was home to a benevolent dragon that brought rain to the local people. The people, in gratitude named the well after him and the village and Dragon Well Tea were named after the well. The area around the well was turned into a place that is a haven for tea drinkers. The well is surrounded by a small rockery and all around are winding paths hidden amongst the trees. There are pavilions dotting the area and visitors are welcome to sit, drink tea, and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery. There are some places to buy tea and hot water, but if you bring your own, it is free. It is a very beautiful natural place. It is a great place to relax a bit and drink some Dragon Well Tea.
