Wuzhen Ancient Village
Located in the suburbs of Suzhou, the ancient village of Wuzhen has a population of 12,000 people. The town has a rich history and its architectural treasures are breathtaking. The town is broken up into six districts; the workshop district, residential district, cultural district, food and beverage district, shopping district, and the customs district. Each district allows visitors to see more about ancient life in the village, which has remained very little changed in centuries.
The main industry of the village in the past was cloth shoe making, tobacco growing, and dying and creation of rich blue batik cloth. Visitors can watch and participate in these ancient industries.
