18-day Shanghai Yangtze Chongqing Yunnan Guilin Guangzhou Tour

Day 1Arrival in Shanghai

Welcome to Shanghai. Upon arrival at Shanghai Pudong Airport, your local guide and driver will pick you up to hotel. Then take a free relax nearby. A night cruise on the Huangpu River is your option.

Day 2Shanghai

Your full day tour starts with a morning visit to Yuyuan Garden. Proceed to the World Financial Center to get a bird's eye view of Shanghai. Then visit the Shanghai Museum, Old Consession Area, Shikumen Area, The Bund by Huangpu River. Enjoy a Chinese Acrobatics Show for your night option.

Day 3Shanghai/Yichang

After breakfast, you will take a morning flight to Yichang. Upon your arrival at the airport, you are greeted and picked up to board a Yangtze cruise ship.

Day 4Yangtze River Cruise

This morning the ship will stop at Sandouping where you will disembark to visit the world biggest water conservancy project - Three Gorges Dam. After that, re-aboard the ship and proceed to sail through the dramatic Three Gorges Ship Lock and then through the longest of the Three Gorges--Xiling Gorge.

Day 5Yangtze River Cruise

Early this morning, delight in Wu Gorge's deep zigzagging valley. At Wushan, transfer to a motorboat for an exciting excursion on either Daning River or Shennong Stream to view their beautiful Lesser Three Gores. Re-aboard the ship and soon pass through the dramatic grandeur of Qutang Gorge, flanked by steep cliffs.

Day 6Yangtze/Chongqing

Today's shore excursion shows the famous Yangtze attraction - a magnificent 12-storied wooden pagoda known as the "Pearl of the Yangtze River" in scenic Shibaozhai or Fengdu Ghost City based on the different cruise schedules.

Day 7Chongqing/Kunming

This morning, the ship will sail through the beautiful countryside to reach Chongqing where you will disembark the ship. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the afternoon bullet train (5 hours) to Kunming.

Day 8Kunming/Jianshui

After breakfast, you will be driven to Jianshui. On the way you will visit Stone Forest and then visit the Zhang Family's Garden, Confucian Temple and Jianshui Ancient Town. Stay overnight in Jianshui.

Day 9Jianshui/Yuanyang

You today's tour will start with a morning visit to the Double Dragon Bridge, then drive to Yuanyang to view the breathtaking Yuanyang Terraced Rice paddy fields and the sunset at Tiger Mouth.

Day 10Yuanyang/Kunming

Today you will enjoy the terraced rice paddy fields and the sunrise at Duoyishu and visit a local ethnic fair at Xinjie Town. Later drive back to Kunming.

Day 11Kunming/Dali

After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport to fly to Dali. Upon your arrival at Dali Ancient City, you will visit the Three Pagodas and take a boat cruise on Erhai Lake.

Day 12Dali/Lijiang

Today you will visit Xizhou Old Town and Bai Minority's Houses, drive to Lijiang for romantic sightseeing around Lijiang Old Town and Black Dragon Pool Park.

Day 13Lijiang

After breakfast you will explore Yuhu Village, Joseph Rock's Former Residence, ancient murals in Baisha Village and Suhe Old Town. Optional ethnic night show - Lishui Jinsha.

Day 14Lijiang/Guilin

Today you will be driven to visit Shigu Old Town and then go back to Lijiang for afternoon flight to Guilin. Upon arrival, your local guide meet you and escort you to check in the hotel in Guilin.

Day 15Guilin/Yangshuo

After breakfast at your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Zhujiang Pier (40 minutes), where you will begin your Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. The scenery along the Li River is often referred to as the most beautiful under heaven. Upon docking in Yangshuo, your guide will escort you to your hotel. After checking in, you will be taken down Yangshuo's famous West Street, known for its shops, bars, and eateries. In the evening you will dine on Yangshuo's amazing Li River Beer Fish. After dinner you will be transfer back to Guilin Hotel for rest.

Optional: In the evening you are free to choose to witness the spectacle of Impressions of Liusanjie (Third Sister Liu) performance. The Performance, created by Zhang Yimou,

China premiere movie director and director of the Beijing Olympics' Opening Ceremony, is made up of hundreds of people and is performed on the Li River with the mountains as the backdrop. It is an unforgettable experience.

Day 16Yangshuo/Guilin/Guangzhou

There are three options for morning enjoyment: Enjoy a countryside biking, a bamboo rafting on the Yulong River and a helicopter tour over Yangshuo. After a half day Yangshuo tour, you will drivce back to Guilin to visit Reed Flute Cave, Jingjiang Prince City, Elephant Trunk Hill. Elephant Trunk Hill is the symbol of Guilin

and Jingjiang Prince City, a tourist attraction highlighted by the gorgeous Solitary Beauty Peak, whose summit offers the best panoramic view of Guilin City. And then to view

The Reed Flute Cave. Later, your tour comes to an end with a transfer to Guilin Train Station for night bullet train (2.5 hours) to Guangzhou.

Day 17Guangzhou

After breakfast, one-day Guangzhou tour will start with a visit to the Dr. Sun Yatsen's Memorial Hall, one of the many memorial halls in the country for this great forerunner in the revolutionary history, the founder of Nationalist Party of China and Republic of China. Built in 1929, the whole architectural complex covers an area of 62,000 square meters. The main building is a 3,700 square meters majestic octangle hall with no pillars in the middle. The plaque of the hall is inscribed with Dr. Sun's own handwriting: "the world is for all" which was also the guidance and goal of his revolutionary life.

The next stop is the Temple of Family Chen, built in 1984 of the Qing Dynasty by the joint-venture of all the Chens in the province. It was originally used as a residence for the Chens' children when they came to Guangzhou to take part in the imperial examinations. But after the system was abolished, it became the family's academy. This family temple is large scaled, garishly decorated and very well preserved. The whole area of structure occupies an area of 8,000 square meters which contains incomputable elegant and complicated sculptures, screens, windows and railings, etc. The buildings themselves are art works which were visited and highly praised by many architects from all over the world. Then proceed to visit Baiyun Mountain Park. At last back to Huangpu Old Port for night relax.

Day 18Hong Kong departure

A morning relax until leaving for your flight to next destination.
